May I suggest seeking legal advice from the helpline as recording you without permission does not sound right to me. However, you may find that when you are there, the tenants may not act in the manner in which you have been led to expect. I have heard from many a client that the tenant is a nightmare etc etc, but have found when I got there, they were perfectly reasonable as I was independent and not from the agent. best of luck Jo

          hi all

What a great idea and what a great new website. I would love a cleaning sheet and a fair wear and tear sheet that I could incorporate into my inventory information pages. Also, not sure if any one else is experiencing this issue, but where I am, overall condition of gardens; patios etc are becoming problematic. Any advise to give tenants would be great.

Oh my. You poor thing. I have had this happen on a couple of occasions over the years and it is not pleasant. I cant offer any legal advice as I am not sure of my facts, so it would interesting to hear from those in the know where we stand with this kind of thing. It is very frustrating when you have done your job only to be stiffed by a landlord. All I can say now is in the case where we think a landlord might not pay, we do not release the paperwork until payment has been received. However, I would like to check from the committee if this is something we can legally do?? I look forward to hearing the views of others on this matter. x
