Understanding Safeguarding in Property Inspections
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. For inventory clerks, letting agents, and property professionals who regularly enter tenanted homes, it is vital to understand how to recognise and respond to potential safeguarding concerns.
This course provides a clear and accessible introduction to safeguarding in the property inspection context. It explains your professional duties, outlines the different types of abuse you may encounter, and sets out the correct steps to take if you are worried about the welfare of a tenant or household member.
You will explore:
-
What safeguarding means in the property sector, including its role in protecting children and vulnerable adults.
-
Your safeguarding obligations under UK legislation and professional codes of conduct.
-
Data protection and safeguarding, with practical advice on handling sensitive information appropriately.
-
Personal safety when attending inspections, including lone working considerations.
-
Types of abuse (physical, emotional, neglect, financial and others) and how to recognise possible warning signs.
-
What to do if you have a concern, including escalation routes, reporting mechanisms, and who to contact.
The course balances professional responsibilities with practical guidance, helping participants feel confident in identifying safeguarding risks and taking appropriate action.
Please note: This training contains references to different forms of abuse, which some participants may find distressing.
Led by our very own Emma Glencross this course will be run for a limited number of occasions and is limited to 10 attendees per course to allow full discussion of the issues so sign up now.
